University Of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Remedial Programmes Admission Form 2025
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the start of admissions for its remedial programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.
If you’re aiming to strengthen your academic foundation before stepping into a full degree programme, this could be your shot. Applications are open for the Remedial Arts, Remedial Science, and Prelim French tracks.
Candidates who successfully complete their remedial studies will proceed directly into 100 Level in the 2025/2026 academic session.
However, it’s important to note: UNIMAID reserves the right to deny any application without providing a reason, and they will not entertain personal enquiries regarding admissions.
Admission Requirements
Before diving into the application process, make sure you meet these conditions:
- You must have sat for an O’Level examination (like WAEC, NECO, or equivalent).
- You should have earned at least five credit passes, spread across no more than two sittings.
- English Language and Mathematics must be among your credits — no exceptions.
- You also need credits in three other relevant subjects related to the programme you’re aiming for.
- It’s mandatory to register for the 2025/2026 UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination).
- When you sit for the UTME, you must score at least 160 points to be eligible for progression.

Step-by-Step Application Process
- Make Payment:
Head over to the University of Maiduguri Microfinance Bank and pay the required application fee. - Get the Application Form:
After making your payment, collect the form directly at the bank. - Obtain Official Receipt:
Take your bank teller to the Bursary Department where it will be exchanged for an official receipt. - Collect Form at Directorate:
Bring your receipt to the Directorate of Remedial Studies and pick up your application form.
How to Submit Your Completed Application
Once you’ve filled out your form, return it to the Directorate of Remedial Studies Office.
Submission can be done in person, by registered post, or through official mail.
Make sure to attach the following documents to your application:
- A certified recent passport-sized photograph (stapled to the form)
- Photocopies of all academic certificates
- A photocopy of your payment receipt from the bank
- A copy of your Local Government Indigene Certificate
