
University Of Lagos (UNILAG) Registration And Screening For 2024/2025
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the second phase of registration and screening for newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry students. The process will run from Monday, January 6, to Friday, January 24, 2025.
Returning students who have not yet finalized their registration are also encouraged to complete the process during this period. The university has emphasized that there will be no extension beyond the stipulated dates, making timely compliance essential.
Step-by-Step Guide to Registration
To ensure a smooth registration process, UNILAG has outlined a detailed step-by-step procedure for all candidates.
Stage 1: Booking Your Registration Appointment
The first step involves scheduling a registration appointment. Follow these steps:
- Visit the UNILAG Student Portal.
- Log in using your JAMB Number or Application Number as your username. Use your surname in lowercase as the default password.
- Change the default password after logging in.
- Click on the “Appointment” option in the menu.
- Select “New Appointment” and choose the appropriate option for your faculty.
- Pick a convenient date and session for your appointment.
- Click “Schedule Appointment” and print the appointment slip.
🔑 Note: You must bring the printed appointment slip to the registration venue.
Stage 2: Uploading Required Documents
Before heading to the screening venue, candidates must upload their documents online.
- Log in to the student portal using the credentials created in Stage 1.
- Complete the bio-data form and print the screening form.
- Upload the original copies of the following documents:
- JAMB Admission Letter
- O’Level Result
- Secondary School Testimonial
- Previous Degree Certificate (for Direct Entry candidates)
- Birth Certificate
- Reference Letter addressed to the Registrar, UNILAG
- State of Origin Certificate
Stage 3: Screening at the Campus
Screening is conducted at the appointed date and time. Candidates must bring two copies of each of the following:
- Screening form (printed in Stage 2)
- UNILAG online application form (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB acknowledgment slip (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB admission letter
- UTME result slip (not applicable for Direct Entry candidates)
- Post-UTME result slip
- JUPEB, A-Level, OND, HND, or B.Sc. result (Direct Entry only)
- O’Level result certificate (WAEC or NECO printouts not accepted)
- Birth Certificate
- Secondary School Testimonial
- State of Origin Certificate (same as the one used for JAMB)
- 12 recent passport photographs with your full name written on the back
🔑 Reminder: Bring the original versions of all these documents for verification during the screening.
Stage 4: Payment of Fees
After completing the screening, candidates can generate a payment advice document 24 hours later. Use this advice to make your payment at any bank.
Stage 5: Faculty and Department Registration
Once payment is confirmed, candidates should visit their faculty and department to finalize the registration process.
Key Reminders
- Impersonation: Any candidate found impersonating during registration will lose their admission and may face legal action.
- Drug Policy: The university maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for drug use. All new students must undergo mandatory drug testing. Those who fail or refuse the test will have their admission withdrawn.
- Future Announcements: Dates for matriculation and orientation programmes will be shared by the university in due course.
