University Of Lagos (UNILAG) Postgraduate Admission Form 2025

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has opened its doors to prospective postgraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

If you’re planning to further your education and earn an advanced degree, now’s the time to make your move.

Whether you’re aiming for a diploma, a master’s degree, or even a Ph.D., UNILAG’s School of Postgraduate Studies is currently accepting applications across a range of programmes — both academic and professional.

Programmes Offered

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s available:

• Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD)
• Academic Master’s Degrees – M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc., LL.M., etc.
• Professional Master’s Degrees – MBA, EMBA, MPH, MPA, MEM, and others
• Advanced Research Degrees – M.Phil. and Ph.D.

You can choose to study full-time, part-time, executive, or through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) — depending on your schedule and preference.

Key Dates You Shouldn’t Miss

• Application Opens: Monday, March 3, 2025
• Application Closes: Friday, August 1, 2025
• Deadline to Submit Completed Forms: Friday, August 8, 2025

Late submissions won’t be entertained, so don’t drag your feet.

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply

1. Visit the official UNILAG Postgraduate Portal:
   https://spgs.unilag.edu.ng
2. Click on the “APPLY” button.
3. Use the ‘View Programmes’ Entry Requirement’ tab to confirm your eligibility.
4. Select “Start a Fresh Application” and choose Postgraduate as your application type.
5. Fill out the short pre-application form.
6. Generate and print your payment invoice.
7. Pay the ₦40,000 application fee either:
   • At any commercial bank using the Remita RRR code, or
   • Online using your ATM card via the PayNow link.
8. After payment, return to the portal and click “Continue Application.”
9. Log in using your payment reference number and your surname (in lowercase) as the password.
10. Complete the application form and upload a passport photograph:
    • Format: JPEG
    • Background: White
    • Size: 275×314 pixels
    • Maximum file size: 15KB
11. Review carefully before submitting. If you submit and later need to make changes, there will be extra charges.

Important Application Rules

Before you dive into the application, there are a few strict rules to note:

• Don’t apply if you’re still waiting for your first-degree results.
• Applicants who are currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme are not eligible.
• You must have completed your NYSC — no exceptions.
• Degrees earned from satellite or outreach campuses are not accepted.

Required Documents

Make sure you upload scanned copies of:

• Your original degree certificates (not statement of results)
• NYSC discharge certificate
• Professional certificates, if your chosen course requires them
