University Of Lagos (UNILAG) Announces 55th Convocation Ceremonies For 2023/2024
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced its 55th Convocation Ceremonies, set to honor the graduating class of 2023/2024.
The celebrations will commence with a pre-convocation press briefing on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, paving the way for a week of exhibitions, academic discussions, and award ceremonies starting Monday, January 13, 2025.

Payment Requirements and Academic Attire for Graduates
Convocation Fees
Graduating students are required to settle all outstanding convocation-related fees, which are included in their tuition. Those yet to make payments should check their student portals for the exact amounts.
Academic Gown Fees
Graduates may choose to hire or purchase academic gowns at the following rates:

- Generate a payment advice slip from your student portal.
- Complete the payment using the Remita platform and the provided RRR.

Collection of Academic Outfits and Ceremony Materials
Graduates can pick up their gowns and the Order of Proceedings at their faculties or designated centers, including:
- College of Medicine
- School of Postgraduate Studies
- Distance Learning Institute
- University of Lagos Business School
To collect items, students must present valid online payment receipts.

E-Invitation Cards and Order of Proceedings
Graduates must download and print their e-invitation cards from their email accounts. The Order of Proceedings will also be available for download online.
Returning Hired Gowns
All hired gowns should be returned immediately after the convocation ceremonies. Failure to do so by Monday, February 3, 2025, will result in a penalty fee of ₦40,000.00. Additionally, certificate collection clearance will not proceed until all outstanding obligations are met.
Certificate Collection Guidelines
Certificates will be available for collection immediately after the ceremonies, following clearance. Unclaimed certificates will incur storage fees:
- After one year: ₦10,000.00
- Each subsequent year: ₦5,000.00

Graduates are required to pay alumni registration fees into designated accounts:

Attendance Registration
Graduates must register online to confirm attendance. A registration link will be sent via email by December 30, 2024. After completing the process, students should print their Access Codes, which will be required to enter the venue.
Ceremony Attendance Guidelines
Graduates are advised to arrive promptly as the venue doors will close once the program begins.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, along with the entire university community, extends heartfelt congratulations to all graduates. Certificates will be issued after completing the required clearance procedures.
