UBTH College of Nursing Sciences Post Basic Gerontology Nursing Programme Screening & Admission 2025/2026
The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) College of Nursing Sciences is now accepting applications for the Post-Basic Gerontology Nursing Programme (Cohort 2) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This one-year intensive programme is designed to equip nurses with specialized skills in elderly care, leading to registration as a Gerontology Nurse under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: A minimum of five credit passes in WASSCE, GCE, or NECO, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Professional Certification: Applicants must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) certificate.
- Work Experience: A minimum of one year of post-registration nursing experience.
- Additional Requirement: A current and valid nursing practising licence.
Screening & Examination Schedule
Applicants will undergo an online screening process in two batches:
- Batch 1: 6 February 2025
- Batch 2: 26 March 2025
- Mode: Virtual (accessible from home, office, or any location of choice).
