The Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has published its academic calendar for the upcoming 2024/2025 session. This follows the Senate’s meeting held on Thursday, 17th October 2024, where the dates were finalized. The schedule outlines key activities and expectations for both students and staff throughout the academic year.
Key Dates in the 2024/2025 Academic Calendar
November 2024
- Monday, 11th November 2024: The online registration portal opens for both freshers and returning students.
- Sunday, 17th November 2024: New students are expected to report to campus.
- Monday, 18th November 2024: Clearance procedures for new students commence.
- Wednesday, 20th November 2024: Orientation for freshers takes place.
- Sunday, 24th November 2024: Returning students resume.
- Monday, 25th November 2024: Lectures officially begin for all students.
December 2024 – January 2025
- Saturday, 21st December 2024 – Sunday, 5th January 2025: The university observes a Christmas break during this period.
- Monday, 6th January 2025: Lectures resume after the holiday break.
February 2025
- Friday, 7th February 2025: Online registration closes for all students, so make sure your paperwork is complete.
- Saturday, 8th February 2025: The matriculation ceremony for fresh students is scheduled.
March 2025
- Monday, 3rd March 2025: Lectures for the first semester come to an end.

- Saturday, 2nd August 2025: Second semester exams conclude.
- Sunday, 3rd August 2025: Students officially go on holiday.
Convocation Ceremony
