Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) Postgraduate Safety Management Programmes 2025
The Federal University Lokoja is now accepting applications for its 2024/2025 professional postgraduate safety courses.
These specialised programmes, run by the Centre for Safety Management in collaboration with Safety Analytics Limited, are designed to equip participants with practical and technical know-how in workplace and environmental safety across different industries.
What This Programme Is About
These courses aim to train professionals in handling risks, improving safety structures, and meeting regulatory standards in various sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing, aviation, and public health.
They’re tailored to solve real-world safety issues and build leadership in safety management.
Available Programmes & Details
1. Professional Diploma in Process Safety Management
- Duration: 6 months
- Focus: Safety in high-risk industries (oil, gas, chemicals).
- Skills Gained: Hazard recognition, risk control, safety system design.
- Entry Requirement: HND in science or engineering fields.
2. Professional Diploma in Workplace Safety Management
- Duration: 6 months
- Focus: Day-to-day health and safety procedures in workplaces.
- Skills Gained: Regulatory compliance, incident prevention, safety auditing.
- Entry Requirement: HND in science or engineering.
3. Professional Master in Process Safety Management
- Duration: 12 months
- Focus: Industrial accident prevention and risk strategy.
- Skills Gained: Safety regulation planning, process evaluation.
- Entry Requirement: BSc in science or engineering.
4. Professional Master in Occupational Safety and Health
- Duration: 12 months
- Focus: Workplace risk prevention and safety enforcement.
- Skills Gained: Risk analysis, safety procedures, worker protection strategies.
- Entry Requirement: BSc in science or engineering.
5. Professional Master in System Safety and Reliability Studies
- Duration: 12 months
- Focus: Equipment safety, fault tolerance, and risk assessment.

- Entry Requirement: BSc in fields such as chemical, civil, electrical, gas, robotics, aviation.
6. Professional Master in Environmental Safety and Health
- Duration: 12 months
- Focus: Environmental hazards, pollution control, public safety.
- Skills Gained: Environmental risk assessment, sustainability practices.
- Entry Requirement: BSc in science or engineering.

On-Campus (Regular Study):
Attend physical classes at any of these locations:
- Lokoja Main Campus
- Abuja Centre
- Port Harcourt Centre
Online (Distance Learning):
Join live virtual classes through the university’s online platform. Some in-person lab sessions and practical fieldwork will still be required.
