The Delta State School of Marine Technology (DESOMATECH) is now selling Post-UTME admission forms for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Whether you’re aiming for marine engineering, computer science, business, or environmental management, DESOMATECH offers a variety of ND programs spread across its campuses in Burutu, Gbaregolor, and Kwale.

DESOMATECH is a government-approved institution, fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). With campuses in different parts of Delta State, the school continues to build a solid reputation for producing well-trained professionals in maritime and technological fields.

Who Can Apply?

Before heading to the application portal, make sure you meet these conditions:

  • O’Level Requirements: You need five credits (including English and Mathematics) in relevant subjects from WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or their equivalents. These results must be from not more than two sittings.
  • JAMB Requirement: All applicants must have sat for the 2025 UTME and selected DESOMATECH, or must be willing to change their institution to DESOMATECH on the JAMB portal.

Department-Specific Entry Requirements

Each department has slightly different subject combinations. Below are a few quick examples:

  • Marine & Mechanical Engineering: Credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and one of Technical Drawing, Biology, or Additional Math.
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering: Credits in Math, Physics, English, and two from Chemistry, Economics, or Technical subjects.
  • Nautical Science & Lab Tech: Strong background in science subjects like Biology, Physics, and Chemistry along with English and Math.
  • Business-Related Courses: Must have credits in English, Math, and three from subjects like Economics, Government, or Commerce.

How to Apply

The application process is strictly online and must be done through the school portal.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Head to www.dsmt.edu.ng
  2. Click on “Apply Now” and select “Application Form”.
  3. Fill in your details and pay the ₦20,000 application fee (non-refundable) directly on the portal.
  4. Use your email and password to access your profile and complete the application.
  5. Once done, print two copies of the acknowledgement slip. You’ll need this for the screening.

DESOMATECH Aptitude Test

A screening test will be conducted, and the date will be communicated via the applicant’s portal and email.

Aptitude Test Venues:

  • Main Campus: DESOMATECH, Burutu
  • Warri Centre: College of Education, Warri
  • Kwale Campus: By Utagba-Ogbe Technical College
  • Gbaregolor Campus

Make sure you show up at your chosen venue with your printed acknowledgement slip.

Deadline for Application

Closing Date: Monday, June 30th, 2025

It’s best not to wait till the last minute. Applications are processed on a rolling basis, and test schedules may follow shortly after the deadline.
