Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) 2025 Convocation Ceremony & 25-Year Anniversary
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) is gearing up for a milestone celebration in May 2025 as it combines two major events — the 10th to 15th Convocation Ceremonies and its 25th Anniversary.
The festivities will take place from Tuesday, May 20 to Saturday, May 24, 2025, and will bring together alumni, staff, dignitaries, and graduating students from academic sessions spanning 2019 to 2024.
Convocation Week: What to Expect
The university will be awarding first degrees, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, PhDs, and honorary degrees to deserving students and notable individuals.
In addition to the formal ceremonies, the university is celebrating its Silver Jubilee — marking 25 years since its establishment.

How to Make Convocation Payments
- Head over to the COOU Convocation Portal
- Click the “Sundry” tab
- Choose “Convocation Payment” from the dropdown menu
- Generate your invoice
- Pay online or at any commercial bank
- Print out your Remita receipt and submit it to the appropriate office
Dress Code & Gown Collection
- All graduands must be properly dressed.
Men: Suit, shirt, and tie
Women: Suit and skirt, gown, or blouse
Traditional wear is allowed if formal.
Gown Distribution Starts:
- Friday, May 2, 2025
- Undergraduates: Collect from respective faculties
- Postgraduates: Collect at the Postgraduate School, Igbariam Campus
Return deadline: Friday, May 30, 2025
Late returns attract a ₦50,000 fine
Security & Access Rules
To ensure safety and order during the convocation week:
- Bags and large luggage are not allowed inside the venue
- Only park in designated spaces — follow security instructions
- Street trading and hawking around the campus will not be permitted
