Borno State University (BOSU) Commences NELFUND Student Loan Registration

Borno State University (BOSU) has opened the registration process for the NELFUND student loan program.

This initiative provides students with the opportunity to access financial support, ensuring they can continue their academic pursuits without financial constraints.

Registration Deadline

The Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Babagana Gutti, has directed all students to complete their registration at the university’s ICT Unit by Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

This process must be finalized before the commencement of second-semester examinations.

Faculties Eligible for Registration

Students from the following faculties are required to participate in the registration process:

  • Faculty of Arts and Education
  • Faculty of Agriculture
  • Faculty of Sciences
  • Faculty of Social and Management Sciences
  • Faculty of Health and Allied Medicine

Academic Requirements for NELFUND

To qualify for the NELFUND loan program, students must meet the following academic criteria:

  1. Fresh Entry Students: Must have gained admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  2. Direct Entry Applicants: Must hold valid admission credentials obtained through JAMB into an accredited tertiary institution.
  3. Full-Time Undergraduate Enrollment: Students must be actively enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program and provide their matriculation number.

Required Documents for Registration

Students applying for the NELFUND initiative must submit the following documents and information as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process:

  • JAMB Registration Number
  • Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • National Identity Number (NIN)
  • Personal details, including:
    • Age
    • Gender
    • Phone number
    • Home address
    • Email address
  • A recent passport-sized photograph
