Bayero University Kano (BUK) Screening Exercise For New Students 2025
Bayero University Kano (BUK) has started its 2024/2025 online screening exercise for newly admitted undergraduate students.
If you recently gained admission, it’s time to get moving with the screening process!
Important Announcement for New Students
According to Malam Aminu Wada Kurawa, the Acting Director of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions, and Records (DEAR), the university’s portal is already open.
Students are encouraged to start their online screening immediately by visiting: BUK Screening Portal
BUK has decided not to conduct any physical screening this year.
In simple terms, you don’t have to travel to Kano — everything will be handled online, meaning you can complete the screening process from the comfort of your home, no matter where you live.
Acceptance Fee
Every newly admitted student must pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦10,000.
Be sure to complete this payment carefully, as BUK will not take responsibility for any issues caused by incorrect payment entries.
Step-by-Step Guide to BUK Online Screening
If you’re unsure where to start, follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Confirm Your Admission with JAMB
- Accept your admission on the JAMB Portal and print your JAMB Admission Letter.
Step 2: Log in to the BUK Screening Portal
- Visit BUK Screening Portal
- Enter your JAMB number, state of origin, and gender to check your admission status.
Step 3: Download Important Documents
Once your admission is confirmed, download the following:
- BUK Admission Letter
- Undertaking Form
- University Health Services Registration Form
All documents are available on the screening portal.
Step 4: Make Your Acceptance Payment
- Generate and print your BUK Personalized Payment Form (BUKPPF).
- Pay your ₦10,000 acceptance fee through the Remita e-Payments and e-Collection platforms.
- After payment, confirm the status by clicking “Check Payment Status” on the portal.
Reminder: Once paid, the acceptance fee is non-refundable.
Step 5: Upload Your Documents
Prepare the following documents and upload them (each file must be less than 1MB and in JPG format):
- JAMB Registration Slip
- JAMB Admission Letter
- O’Level Result (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent)
- A’Level Result (For Direct Entry students only)
- Any additional documents you think are relevant
Note:
If your uploaded documents are rejected due to poor quality or other issues, you must re-upload clearer copies. Don’t panic if you face a little delay — document approval can take between 12 to 24 hours.
If you have any questions or face technical problems, use the message box feature on the portal for quick help.
Step 6: Print Your Acknowledgement Slip
After your documents are approved:
- Print out your Acknowledgement Slip.
It contains your registration number and further instructions for your next steps.
Step 7: Proceed to Complete Your Online Registration
Once you have your Acknowledgement Slip:
- Head over to BUK Registration Portal to complete your full online registration.
Make sure you follow every instruction carefully to avoid any delays or issues with your final clearance.
