Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Studies

Before submitting your application, make sure you meet the entry criteria for your chosen level of study.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.A.) in a related discipline with at least a Third Class from an accredited university.

Master’s Programmes (M.Sc / MBA)

There are two categories of Master’s admission:

• Academic Master’s (M.Sc):
  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./B.A.) with at least a CGPA of 3.0 out of 5.0 or its equivalent.
• Professional Master’s (e.g., MBA):
  • Minimum of Second Class Lower Division from an approved institution.
  • Candidates with an HND must have completed a PGD with a minimum Credit Pass (CGPA 3.0/5.0).
  • Those with a Third Class Degree must also complete a University PGD with a Credit pass.

M.Phil/Ph.D. Programme

• Applicants must have a Master’s degree with a CGPA ranging between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 5-point scale.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

• Candidates must hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in the relevant field.
• The Master’s degree must be awarded with a minimum CGPA of 4.0/5.0.
