Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has announced the dates for the 2023/2024 Special Resit Examinations, following approval from the Senate during their 539th regular meeting.

ABU Resit Examination Timetable
Here’s the breakdown of important dates for the Special Resit Examinations:
- Registration: Starts on Monday, 21st October 2024, and closes on Saturday, 26th October 2024.
- Revision Period: From Monday, 21st October 2024, through to Saturday, 2nd November 2024.
- Examination Dates: The exams will be held from Monday, 4th November 2024, until Saturday, 9th November 2024.
Make sure you stick to these deadlines as they are firm and won’t be extended.
ABU Resit Examination Fees
The fees for the resit exams are structured as follows:
- Registration Fee: ₦10,000.00 (this is a flat fee for all participants).
- Fee Per Course: ₦5,000.00 for each course you’re resitting.
This is an important step toward clearing any outstanding courses, so ensure all payments are made on time to avoid any complications.
Who Is Eligible for the ABU Resit Examination?
Not every student can participate in the resit exams; only certain groups are eligible:
- Final Year Students: If you’re in your final year and have up to four (4) outstanding courses, you can take the resit exams. This applies whether or not your academic residency has expired, giving you a chance to complete your degree.
- Veterinary Medicine Students: Students in the 300, 500, and 600 levels in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are also eligible.
- Medical Sciences Students: If you’re a 300-level student in pre-clinical programs at the College of Medical Sciences, you can take advantage of the resit to clear any incomplete courses.
Important Notes for the ABU Resit Examination
Keep in mind that during the Special Resit Examination, you’re only eligible to achieve the minimum passing score for your course, depending on the type of degree you’re pursuing:
- For Classified Degrees, the maximum score you can earn is 40%.
- For Unclassified Degrees, the highest score available is 50%.
