Mandatory Attendance & Dress Code

Attendance at this ceremony is compulsory for all fresh undergraduate students. To maintain the university’s academic traditions, students are expected to appear in full academic regalia (gowns) throughout the event.

Additionally, they will be required to take the official matriculation oath, signifying their commitment to the university’s rules and regulations.

How to Obtain an Academic Gown

To participate in the ceremony, students must hire an academic gown by following these steps:

1. Payment Fee: A non-refundable fee of N2,000 is required.
2. Collection Process: After payment, students should proceed to their Faculty Officers to collect both their academic gown and matriculation oath form.

Payment Procedure via Remita

To ensure a smooth payment process, follow these instructions:

1. Open a web browser and visit Remita.
2. Click on “Pay TSA & States.”
3. Under the section “Who do you want to pay?” type:
   • Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – 1000110
4. For “Name of Service/Purpose,” select COGCC.
5. In the description field, type: Payment for Academic Gown Hiring.
6. Enter the exact amount: N2,000.
7. Provide your full name, phone number, and email address.
8. Complete the security verification by checking “I am not a robot.”
9. Click “Submit” and choose a preferred payment method:
   • Debit/Credit Card
   • Bank Transfer
   • USSD
   • Bank Branch
   • Internet Banking
10. Print the Remita receipt and present it at the Cash Office for verification.

Attendance & Documentation

Faculty Officers will be responsible for documenting student attendance during the event. After the ceremony, they must:

• Submit the attendance record
• Collect and forward all completed Matriculation Oath forms to the Academic Office for official upload to student portals.
