Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) SHIM ND Admission Form 2025
The School of Health Information Management (SHIM) at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, is now accepting applications for its full-time programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
If you’re interested in a career managing health records and information, two programmes are currently open for enrollment:
- National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health Information Management
Who Can Apply for the National Diploma (ND)?
To be considered for the National Diploma programme, you need to meet the following conditions:
- You must have five credit passes in your O’Level results.
- These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Results must come from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, and should not be more than two sittings.
- You are required to sit for the 2025 UTME (JAMB) examination.
- Your UTME score must meet or exceed the school’s cutoff mark.
- For your JAMB subject combination, you must select English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
What About the Higher National Diploma (HND) Requirements?
Those aiming for the HND programme must satisfy these criteria:
- You must have five credits in the same core subjects: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Applicants should possess a National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management or a Health Records Technician Certificate, with a grade of at least Lower Credit.
- A current practising license is mandatory.
- You must have completed one year of Industrial Training (IT) from a recognized healthcare institution.
- Candidates with an ND “Pass” grade but who have acquired two years of professional experience in a related field might also be considered.
How Long Are the Programmes?
Both programmes run for two academic sessions, which means:
- Four semesters for the National Diploma.
- Four semesters for the Higher National Diploma.

- Payment for Screening PIN:
Visit the ATBUTH SHIM admissions page and make your payment through the Remita platform. - Application Fees:
- ND Application Fee: ₦5,000
- HND Application Fee: ₦10,000
- PIN Collection:
After payment, collect your screening PIN from the school’s admission office.
What Happens After Applying?
- If shortlisted, you’ll be invited for a screening examination.
- Successful candidates will also go through an interview session to complete the selection process.
