University Of Uyo (UNIUYO) Releases Academic Calendar For 2024/2025 Sessions

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has published its academic calendar, detailing important dates for both the 2024/2025 academic years.

This schedule will help guide students through the key events of the first and second semesters, ensuring they stay on track with registration, lectures, and exams.

University Of Uyo (UNIUYO) Academic Calendar

UNIUYO First Semester (2024/2025)

• Semester Commencement:
  The first semester begins on October 7, 2024.
• Registration Without Penalty:
  Students have three weeks (October 7, 2024 – October 25, 2024) to register without any additional charges.
• Lectures for Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students:
  Classes will run for eleven weeks, from October 7, 2024, to December 20, 2024.
• New Student Orientation:
  Orientation for freshers will take place from October 21, 2024, to October 25, 2024.
• Late Registration (with Penalty):
  Late registration is allowed from October 28, 2024, to November 8, 2024, for a two-week period with a penalty.
• Christmas Break:
  The university will observe a two-week break from December 23, 2024, to January 3, 2025 for the Christmas holidays.
• Final Week of Lectures:
  Lectures resume briefly from January 6, 2025, to January 10, 2025, to wrap up the semester.
• Revision Week:
  A week of revision is scheduled for January 13, 2025, to January 17, 2025, allowing students to prepare for exams.
• Examination Period:
  The first-semester exams will be held over three weeks, from January 20, 2025, to February 7, 2025.
• Semester Break:
  Students will enjoy a two-week break from February 10, 2025, to February 21, 2025, before the second semester begins.

UNIUYO Second Semester (2024/2025)

• Semester Start:
  The second semester kicks off on February 24, 2025.
• Registration Without Penalty:
  Similar to the first semester, there’s a three-week period for registration without penalty from February 24, 2025, to March 14, 2025.
• Late Registration (with Penalty):
  Late registration will be available for two weeks, from March 17, 2025, to March 28, 2025, with an additional fee for late submissions.
• Lecture Period:
  Lectures will be conducted for twelve weeks, from February 24, 2025, to May 16, 2025.
• Student Week:
  The university will hold a special Student Week from May 19, 2025, to May 23, 2025.
• Revision Week:
  Students will have a week to revise for their exams, from May 26, 2025, to May 30, 2025.
• Examinations:
  Second-semester exams are scheduled for three weeks, from June 2, 2025, to June 20, 2025.
• Long Vacation:
  Following the exams, students will enjoy a long vacation lasting six weeks, from June 23, 2025, to August 1, 2025.
• New Academic Session:
  The new academic year (2024/2025 & 2025/2026 sessions) will officially begin on August 4, 2025.
