The University of Calabar’s management has announced a modification in the method of the screening process in an effort to lessen the burden on applicants seeking admission for the 2024–2025 academic year.
“Management of the University, having taken into consideration, factors such as high cost of transportation occasioned by fuel scarcity in the country, accommodation, logistics, and the security situation in the Country, has decided to cancel the 2024/2025 Post-UTME screening exercise,” reads a statement from Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe, Registrar and Secretary of the University’s Governing Council.
It is therefore advised that applicants who registered online for the 2024 Post-UTME screening exercise and selected the University of Calabar as their first choice institution visit the closest JAMB-CBT center to upload their O-level results.
The statement further states that, in order to determine which candidates to admit for 2024–2025, the University will assign points to each applicant depending on their O’level results.
In order to do this, the University has extended the deadline for Post-UTME registration by one week. It is also recommended that candidates who have not yet registered take advantage of the extended registration period, as there won’t be another one after the August 31 deadline.
