Capital City University, Kano Gets Full NUC Accreditation For Seven Programmes

Capital City University, Kano has secured Full Accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for seven academic programmes, marking a major leap forward in the institution’s academic journey.

NUC Confirms Accreditation

The NUC made the announcement following its comprehensive accreditation visit conducted in October and November 2024.

The confirmation came through a formal letter—Reference: NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/387, dated April 30, 2025—signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, the Acting Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu.

Programmes That Received Full Accreditation

The seven courses that met NUC’s rigorous academic standards and earned full accreditation are:

• Computer Science
• Cyber Security
• Software Engineering
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
• Biotechnology
• Forensic Science
• Digital Entrepreneurship

However, the Mathematics programme received an Interim Accreditation, meaning the university will need to address specific gaps before full status can be granted.
