Yobe State University (YSU) Postgraduate Admission Form 2025

Yobe State University (YSU) is now accepting applications for its postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Interested candidates can apply online starting Monday, 27th January 2025, until the deadline on Monday, 21st April 2025.

A wide range of postgraduate courses is available across multiple faculties and research centres. Each programme has specific entry requirements, and all applications must be completed online.

Entry Requirements

General O’Level Requirements

  • Five credit passes, including English and Mathematics
  • Three additional relevant subjects

Master’s Degree

  • A Second Class Lower in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/5.0
  • Third Class graduates must have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with at least a Lower Credit
  • Degree must be from a university recognized by the YSU Senate

Ph.D. Degree

  • A Second Class Lower in a related field
  • A Master’s degree with at least a ‘B’ grade (60%)
  • Demonstrated research ability and academic competence

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

  • A Second Class Lower degree or HND with a Lower Credit CGPA (minimum 2.50/5.0)
  • Third Class degree holders may be considered if applying within a relevant field

Application Process

Follow these steps to complete your application:

  1. Visit the YSU Postgraduate Application Portal
  2. Create an account
  3. Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and make payment online or at a designated bank
  4. Log in using your phone number and RRR
  5. Fill out the application form completely
  6. Print out your application slip
  7. Upload required documents, including academic certificates, transcripts, birth certificate, and local government identification
  8. Select your desired course and area of specialization (if applicable)
  9. Note that applicants can apply for only one programme per session
  10. The university reserves the right to accept or reject any application without explanation

Application Deadline: Monday, 21st April 2025

Ensure you complete all application steps before the deadline. Only applications that meet all requirements will be considered for admission.
