As Lagos State University (LASU) gears up for its 28th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from April 3rd to April 10th, 2025, the university management has released a list of essential documents that graduating students must present to collect their certificates.

Documents Required for Certificate Collection

Graduates from the Full-Time Programme, Open and Distance Learning and Research Institute (ODLRI), and Sandwich Degree Programme at the Ojo Campus must provide the following:

  • Original Notification of Result (or proof of payment)
  • Completed Online Graduating Students Clearance Form
  • Receipt of ₦53,500 for Certificate & Convocation Package
  • Recent Academic Profile
  • ₦1,000 Alumni Fee Payment Receipt
  • Faculty Clearance (confirming the return or non-collection of the Academic Gown and Cap)
  • Valid Means of Identification (NIN, Driver’s License, LASSRA, Voter’s Card, or International Passport)

For graduates from Abeokuta, Ilesa, and Oyo campuses, the required documents include:

  • Original Notification of Result (or proof of payment)
  • Signed Clearance Letter from the Affiliated Institution
  • Evidence of Payment for Online Clearance
  • Receipt of ₦53,500 for Certificate & Convocation Package
  • Recent Academic Profile
  • ₦1,000 Alumni Fee Payment Receipt
  • Directorate of Sandwich Degree Clearance (confirming return/non-collection of the Academic Gown and Cap)
  • Valid Means of Identification (NIN, Driver’s License, LASSRA, Voter’s Card, or International Passport)

LASU Staff Directed to Resume In-Person Work

In a separate development, all staff members of Lagos State University have been directed to resume full in-person work following the cancellation of the work-from-home policy by the Lagos State Public Service.

The announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello in an official statement shared by the Deputy Registrar and Coordinator of the CIPR, Thomas-Onashile Oluwayemisi.

Government Directive on Work Resumption

This decision aligns with a directive from the Lagos State Government, outlined in a circular referenced CIR/HOS/’25/VOL.1/007, dated February 11, 2025, and signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro. The circular reads:

“Furtherance to the implementation of the New Minimum Wage in the State Public Service and other commendable measures put in place by this administration to improve the welfare and well-being of public servants in Lagos State, it is hereby notified for general information that Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the cancellation of the work-from-home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service.”

Implementation Date

The work-from-home arrangement, which has been in effect since February 2024, will officially end on March 31, 2025. From this date onward, all staff members (both Teaching and Non-Teaching) are expected to fully resume work at the university.

Work Schedule Reminder

To ensure compliance, LASU staff members must adhere to the official working hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

All employees are encouraged to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and enhance their service delivery in alignment with the university’s operational standards.
