Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) CPPEG Postgraduate Admission Form 2024/2025
The Centre for Professional Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences (CPPEG) is now accepting applications for its Professional Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Master’s Degree programmes in Applied Petroleum Geosciences and Engineering for the 2024/2025 academic year.
These programs are offered in partnership with Laser Engineering and Resources Consultants Limited, through the Laser Petroleum Geosciences Centre (LPGC).
Approved by both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), these programmes are designed to equip students with the skills necessary for success in the dynamic oil and gas sector.
Programmes Overview
Professional Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Duration: 12 months
- Focus: This programme aims to develop essential industry skills in Petroleum Geosciences and Engineering. It’s a practical, hands-on experience that ensures graduates are well-prepared to tackle the challenges in the field.
Master’s Degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.)
- Duration: 15 months
- Focus: This intensive programme involves both coursework and research, giving students a comprehensive understanding of Geosciences and Engineering. Graduates will be equipped with the tools to conduct independent research and develop entrepreneurial skills, with a strong focus on practical applications in the oil and gas industry.
These programmes are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical skills that are in high demand in the oil and gas industry.

- Effurun, Delta State
Both locations offer full access to the resources and expertise needed for successful completion of the programmes.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
This ensures that candidates have the foundational knowledge necessary to succeed in these advanced programs.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of N20,000 as part of the submission process.

Award of Degree
Upon successful completion of their respective programmes, graduates will be awarded either an NID or M.Sc./M.Eng. degree, depending on the course undertaken.
